Moccasins for Baby Feet, Oh So Important!
I am sharing this information with parents from my perspective as a Board Certified Pedorthist.
Baby moccasins are an excellent footwear choice for your baby’’s feet.
Your baby’s feet are made for baby moccasins (or should I say, vise versa?). Baby feet consist mainly of flesh and cartilage. At this age, the bones of the feet are more gristle-like cartilage than bone. Your baby has a lot of growing to do before he or she has hardness to his or her foot.

These authentically designed moccasins feature a fringe front, stitch seaming and a hook and loop fastener flap closure. Super soft soles give all-day comfort to little feet.
At this baby stage, they have a lot of space between the bones in their feet, and there are basically no joints developed yet. It takes about 18 years for the foot to become fully developed.
Ordinary shoes for babies should be outlawed. Most baby shoes have a thick, stiff sole on them. These are not good for a baby’s foot, unless some kind of correction is being attempted, via medial treatment.
Babies seem to have an intuitive sense about what is good for their feet. I have yet to see a baby with shoes on who isnt constantly working to get them off their feet. Babies appear to know ordinary shoes are not good for them.
Baby moccasins make a lot of sense, because they are soft, lightweight and do not restrict the foot in any way. That is critical for baby foot movement and development.
As babies begin to walk, the soft sole of the moccasin is critical, as it allows the baby’s foot to flex and bend as they try to stabilize themselves. Much of our balancing comes from our toes. If the sole of the shoe is not flexible, the toes are unable to function.
A baby’s toes have 15 times the gripping capacity of shoe wearing adults. Let their toes work for them, by putting their little feet in moccasins.
