My favority pair of shoes! January 14, 2008

I originally bought a pair of these at JC Penney last summer and just love them. My daughter also wears a pair. Cursed with very wide feet, our family often struggles to find stylish shoes that are comfortable. When my Mom saw them and tried mine on, she just had to have a pair. Unfortunately, they are no longer available at Penneys. I had no problem locating a pair through amazon and received them in no time! Great pair of shoes at a great price.

Know Your Measurements
The key to a proper fit is knowing your measurements. The average woman is 5’4” and weighs 164 pounds according to the National Center for Health Statistics — not your typical runway model. Look for designers that offer clothing specifically for your size.

Don’t Forget the Details
Details can play an important role in proportion. Print and pattern sizes, button sizes and back pocket sizes are all elements that play with proportion that can make you appear larger or smaller. I purchased two pair of Newbeat sandals, the Brown and the “navy”, which is actually a deep royal. They were instantly comfortable right out of the box, and a slight adjustment of the three straps made these the best sandals I’ve ever purchased. My feet are two different sizes amd two different widths due to bunions and surgery. The Newbeat sandals accomodate this. I’ve been wearing them daily, all day, since they arrived about a month ago, and I will be a Clarks customer from now on!

Use the longer measurement for your foot length.

While still standing, measure the width of each foot at its widest point. Use the greater measurement as your foot width. If you measured in inches then multiply your measurements by 2.54 to convert them to centimeters. 10 inches = 25.4 cm. The metric measurements will come in handy when communicating with non-US shoe stores. Doing the metric conversion yourself eliminates one possible source of error.
